I have an 1860 War Eagle and have been thinking about having a poling platform made for it. I might eventually take the boat to the coast to do some inshore redfishing, but am also liking the poling platform idea for rear running light, LED floodlights, etc. I have seen some with four mounts on top of the rear deck and others with two on top and two attaching to the rear of the boat. I would like to stick with four on top as to avoid any more holes in the side/rear of the boat.

Aside from height clearance, any negatives to having one added?

I have a WE 1860 that's in the shop right now getting fitted for front and rear carp decks. Mine will be removable with ratchet straps holding it down to the gunnels. I didn't want to lose any storage space for hunting season so I made them both detachable. The rear deck can also double as a poling platform when we shoot carp on out on the river. I will add a picture when I get it back next week.

It will be similar to this but not as high and not bolted on..

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. It would be great to see pictures of yours when it is done. I am trying to decide the best mounting options.

I have the boat in storage now but need to get it ready for carp season. Hope to get a picture up in the next week or so. The deck and platform turned out pretty good.

Those look pretty awesome. Maybe a little tall for my needs, but I wonder if it could be made to fit a war eagle.
