They have 3.4 million people living in PR and they can't even get the roads open yet??? This sounds like local officials unprepared for a disaster like this, they are screaming they can't get aid but 3000 shipping containers full of food, water and medical supplies have been sitting on the docks in PR for over a week now and they don't have anybody to move them??????
She's the next Ray Nagon.
The press conference she gave where she said they had no food or water - standing in front of a warehouse full of food and water that had been stocked up by FEMA prior to Irmas arrival - is still sitting in that warehouse because she's can't work w/ the union truck drives to haul it out to where it needs to go to. Turns out that the Teamsters don't like her. They haven't been "showing up" to the ports.
And this is Trumps fault ?????????????????
Thousands upon thousands of containers are stacked in ports and on idle ships because there are no truckers...many of the roads are clear.
Truckers have a variety of reasons they claim they can't transport the aid.
There is fuel and roads have been cleared to many towns but only about 20% of truckers have reported to work.
The fuel is also sitting in San Juan ports.
The Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration tells NPR that the government is working with the truck driver's union to find a solution for driving with downed power lines and damaged roads, and the Department of Defense says it has sent teams to work on clearing blocked streets.
Not everyone believes roadways are the problem. Roberto Ramirez Kurtz is the mayor of Cabo Rojo in southwestern Puerto Rico, which is about as far away from San Juan as you can get on the island — a 2 ½ to 3-hour drive.
He says more than 5,000 homes were completely destroyed in his town, and people are running out of water and insulin. But aid and resources, "they're staying in San Juan," he says.
Kurtz was in San Juan to ask for help, and having made the trip himself, he doesn't believe that road conditions are an obstacle. "The roads are open," he says. "I've been able to come here. So why haven't we used this to [transport goods] west?"
Probably... ok, most likely. But why not be the bigger man? Not defending a side, but call it what it is in a respectful manner. Make her thank you, for calling her a piece of turd. That's kinda like unity, right?
You don't blast back and show the media and the rest a flat out lie it becomes a believed lie! Look at the number of them from Katrina about Bush that are repeated today!
There has not been anyone that has pushed back at the viral attacks and false claims like Trump. He has made everyone question the media. Had they done their jobs they would have known like others here have of her lack of participation, her sitting on supplies etc.... but no they put it forward as a lead and make it appear to be true. So being the bigger man works only when the stakes are not as high as they are!
Natural disaster with people running out of everything and politicking with it, I don't think Trump gives a crap about respect at the moment just get the job done and get supplies to the people that need them. Using something like this to make jokes like the Hollywood crowd is and slam Trump like the Media is, that's lower than low and shows what kind of a country we've unfortunately turned into.
She wants a "chocolate island"?
