Looking for ones that can be loud and rugged for outdoor use. Anyone have experience with any of that type?

I have had the JBL Charge 2+ for a couple of years. It has a great sound and there have been multiple new versions released since I purchased mine. It has been beat around and still works great.
Loudness- Louder than most speakers its size
Durability - Meh, Its tough but I am sure there are better options out there
Portability- about the size of a 24oz pop

Have had several of the JBL ones in the $80-100 range. They sound great, durability leaves much to be desired. Even babying the things like a smart phone (not getting wet, not dropping, keeping it in neoprene case, etc), I can’t seem to get them to last. Next one I buy will not be a JBL.

Don't go to cheap, a speaker the size of a Bud Tallboy is going to sound like a speaker in a Bud Tallboy.
I've been threw several, the Kicker patio Bluetooth speakers sound best with more enough volume to pizz of your neighbours while your BBQing out back in the summertime, so I bet there protables sound pretty dam good as well.:yes

Make sure to buy one of these, music played at high volume will drain you phone and the speaker in a few hours.:tu

I had one of those. I got three years out of it before it just quit. Wanted something louder and more rugged.

I have had a jawbone for several year, and have my whole house full of sonos gear. My daughter has wireless Bose headphones and they are the bomb. i recommend any of these.
