    Hi:

New to the mudmotor deal but I have a boat being built and have a 18 hp copperhead in the crate awaiting install. I also have a aftermarket power trim which I could install on the boat and then place the copperhead on that, is there a huge advantage to have power trim on a surface drive mud motor?

    Thanks in advance!

One advantage is the ability to trim down when coming out of the hole in the real shallow stuff with soft bottom, then trimming up as speed increases to get boat on plane.

Put your power trim toggle switch on the handle. We had a 10HP Copperhead on a CMC, and the guys who rigged it up, put the switch on the hull. Made it hell trying to trim the boat up, while trying to reach over and drive. Lesson learned.
