I just recently got a 4 Rivers Layout Boat, so I have been looking for a 6.5 horse mud motor. I am fairly new to this mud motor idea, and I have never even heard of a PPF mud motor before. If you could please tell me about your Experiences/Opinions if you or some one you know has had one.

    Thanks in advance

I've heard that Mr Powell, the owner was part of the original Beavertail Mfg
group and that he does make a very good product. I got the information to a hunting buddy of mine, as he is very interested in buying a shorttail 7 hp from him.

So what would your suggestion be? I told the guy I would look at it, and possibly test it to see what I thought. But all we (my dad and I) have used in the past, were beaver tails.

Im almost positive it's the owner of backwater inc, that was with beavertail. I was torn between a ppf and backwater for a longtail to put on my stealth 2000. I went with the backwater with the subaru robin engine and have been very happy with it.

Pull start. I don't think electric is available on that size engine.

I think it would be un necessary weight. Mine is very easy to pull and starts first or second pull every time

I haven't heard of a backwater either until now. I'll look it up

I think the backwater is the best long tail made. I had high expectations on the quality after doing my homework. I wasn't disappointed.
