Glad to hear you are feeling better!

    A little levity:

One of my uncles when younger got his foot caught in something in the tractor and it took his big toe off. He said he had to learn to walk again as apparently that big toe helps you balance more than you might think. That's not the funny part... He used to take of his shoe and socks and chase us kids around, telling us that his missing toe was going to attack us. I'm not sure why that scared us, but it was freaky to see that big toe gone and him chasing us around pushing that foot out to try and touch us with it! There was so many times I wanted to hurt that man... he's my favorite Uncle now.

Praying for a speedy recovery. You'll do great. Sister-in-law lost her big toe in a lawn mowing accident when she fell backwards holding onto the mower. Hasn't slowed her down one bit. Heed the balance warnings. At first it may be an issue but it'll will accommodate for itself.

The bad news is that you'll have to get rid of all your flip flops... Good news is it was just a toe and not toes/foot/leg...

Don't know how long ago either of these occurred, but they make "toe filler" inserts for shoes that help quite a bit with this. Even then, it will take some time for your body to adjust to the change, but most can walk fine in pretty short order.

You'll be alright, just shift your weight to the outside of your foot.

You'll be able to have fun with this for years...next time the grandkids are over take your boot and sock off and start screaming that your toe fell of and they need to help you find it.

    Glad it went well.

Hey Mike---- Sorry to hear that, but with all the trouble you've had, well maybe it's a blessing in disguise. (You don't 'deal' with your toes anyway! LOL)
Good to hear that yur doctor said you'll be going again soon. Your duck season is probably close to starting, ----ours here in Minnie is over. It's 0 right now with 1/2 a foot of snow.
I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
    God blesses.
