I believe wanton waste is more thoroughly enforced if you were attempting to take game and not make efforts to retrieve game or once retrieved, abandoning the game or discarding it. If you are a holder of a current waterfowl license and the game can not be determined as fresh, you are able to keep up to the posession limit in its whole form until you wish to use it.

If you were ticketed for wanton waste for using it as a training tool for your dog then I'd see a lot more tickets being issued for people with a number of birds in their freezer waiting to be brought to the taxidermist.

I still don't fully agree acklimating the dog to the size. I know plenty of dogs that will pick up a pillow and carry it around if tempted. Of which not many will pick up a whole goose. By pulling innards and breast meat, you're removing about half the weight of a full grown adult canada.

Seems strange that eating the edible portions and throwing the rest of the carcass out in the trash is alright, but eating the edible portions and using the carcass as a training device is a NO-No :scratch

Don't waste the meat, but train your dog to be the best he/she can be. You will be a better conservator of game. I applaud your efforts.

how long does it last? Do you still need to freeze it? Doesn't it start to stink eventually?
