    Hey Guys,

Went hunting yesterday morning and the first bird to come into the decoys was this pretty Drake Pintail. After the dog brought it back i was pretty happy just because it was such a pretty bird, Well it was also banded. I started Taxidermy up again so he is going on the wall in a dead mount pose with this picture and the Certificate too. My first Banded Drake Pintail :)

It was Banded on 8/3/2015 in Fairbanks Alaska

Nice bird. Drake sprig is my favorite bird. I shot a banded hen pintail about 5 years ago. Banded up in Canada...either Northwest Territories or Northern Alberta as I recall. All my other bands are mallards. The pintail band is smaller...

Yeah this band is smaller than my others. I have shot 3 other Drake mallards that were banded. 1 was in Oregon, 1 Alberta Canada, 1 Nevada and this one in Alaska. I to am really surprised how pretty this bird is. we shot 2 other pintail drakes the same day and they were not colored up at all like this one was.
