Well I may know a guy who would loan you the money, but his payments a little high and he will brake your kneecaps because of a late payment.

I knew a Dr. that belonged. He was from Sterling. You are right about the $$$ and the waiting list. He also told me you cannot just join even if you are on the waiting list. If you are interested you must be asked by one member to be on the waiting list. You must be asked by at least one member, voted on by the other members and it takes 2/3 vote approval so you better not have any enemies in the club to become a member. It's been a while but I think he also told me you had to hunt w/ 3 to 5 different members on different hunts so they could approve or disapprove of your hunting etiquette.

Danny, since you have your checkbook out :l.
I didn't know how much it cost, but I did know that you have to be a resident of Bureau county and that even if your name came up on the list that the membership still had to vote you in. Wasn't aware that you had to hunt with X number of members that would vouch for hunting etiquette and ethics. (If they had similar requirements on public areas, they would be ghost towns!)

A duck club is a beautiful thing but at the tail end of nearly 50 years of freelancing on public water in six different states I refuse to believe it's worth $50K and mucho butt kissing to bel8ng.

Rism Funny that Sterling is not in Bureau County.

riverrat47 Ed I' write you a check to.

Heck I'l just buy the whole thing and let the Refuge members
    hunt it for free.

The day I was there we pumped the water
out of a couple of those ditches with the
roll overs. They are neat how they were built.
There is some neat old stuff in the club house.

I almost forgot to mention that there is also
    annual dues.Like a maintance fee.It's
    several hundred bucks a year.

This is only for the rich guys no getting around it.

$50,000 and dues buys an awful lot of good hunting weeks in Canada and Mexico/South America.

Danny, I was just looking at a map. Bureau county is just a hop, skip and jump from Sterling-15 miles =/-. Perhaps the good Dr. that rism was talking about practiced in Sterling but lived in Bureau county.

He was from Sterling. Lived and practiced in Princeton, retired back to Sterling. Got out of the club when he retired. Owned a couple of farms around Sterling / Rock Falls. Used to have some great Pheasant hunting places. He was retired when I met him. Hunted pheasants, ducks and geese w/ him until he was 92. Took him on his last duck at the handicap blind at Sanganois on his 92 birthday. Jeff said being 92 and still able to hunt was enough of a handicap to use the blind. Told us a lot of stories about the PHC. Passed away last year. Spread his ashes over his farms and our place north of Sanganois. His wishes. Grand old gentleman !!!!

    Only $50k, can I get 2?
That’s less than 1/2 of one at Winous Point.
