They don't do shallow water and parts will be a problem if there is a problem.

I would Love to have one follow me into shallow waters , if they can !
I can run in 4" at 1/3 throttle and better wide-open .......hopefully !

I realize they are not like a shallow water “real jet”, but I suspect they are better than a regular prop outboard when you inevitably whack into something.

Agree that parts could be an issue. Looking at a used one to give some versatility to my mud boat. I won’t over spend.

    Thanks guys.

I can see where in open water , that is deep enough , as the lower unit sits way below the bottom of the hull , so it's getting clean water
to propell with maximum force , it being handy . This design isn't for mud boats I don't believe ? Shallow water requires the lease amount
of the pump hanging below the boat as mine is 1/2" to the front of the intake grate !

That is a more efficient style of jet because you are not turning the water 90 degrees. I don't know how it stacks up against a regular prop for power and speed but it has to be better than 1/3 loss of power that my jet loses. Check on the lower unit parts and make sure if you can still buy them.

Again, thanks for input. I have a jack plate on the boat, so I should be able to get the lower unit in the right spot. I had never heard of these before seeing the ad on CL

I shouldn't condemn its design but without the intake "in front" of the lower unit , shallow water running wouldn't be possible for ,
    very far !

Motor purchased. I may have the only one in Cali.- that’s not a good thing. Definitely a gamble, but I see some positives. Hopefully I don’t have regrets. Price was right.

Now I’m going to be able to beat Freefall out to the mallard hole.:)

Will update you guys on performance once I take it for a shake down cruise.

Again, thank you for your input!

Your ruining my bad reputation

Nice rig, I'm definitely interested how it performs.
