Keep in mind- not everyone was in favor of a 6 duck limit either.
Many people opposed it, so saying that we need all
Of the waterfowlers in the state to support a swan season is not accurate.
Also, the premise behind why we do not have a swan season is what disturbs me. Anti hunters, and non hunters basically dictate whether or not we have one. Personally, I think that is total BS, and it's a shame that any of our hunting seasons, are dictated by any anti group.
We cry outrage when farmers want to decimate the deer population, yet are ok with anti hunters who think swans are pretty telling us we cannot have a season?
It's an outrage honestly. I may never even put in for a swan permit, but we should make that choice as hunters- not the general public.
The Feds say we can have a season, we should have one period.

    Scotty,
I believe you can shoot mute swans with a permit, if you want.

Ok, well I can shoot mutes in other states without a permit-
The point here is we are allowed a season but anti hunting pressure or the fear of it, keeps us from our allowed season- not science.

I understand, like I said, I have no desire to shoot any swans and I think theres a lot of other waterfowlers that feel the same way. You can always go out of state to shoot a swan. You go out of state to shoot a duck and a turkey.

I personally don't have a desire to hunt sea ducks- so I guess they should close the season on them too- or a Canada goose. Screw it lets just close all seasons down unless all waterfowlers agree-

Like you said to osprey- you're an idiot lol

I'm saying, you have opportunities to hunt swan, but you argue sometimes just to argue.

If you want to shoot some swan, get yourself down to Annapolis and these meetings and get the ball rolling.....but, all you do is bit-ch on here about it.

My point, besides osprey being an idiot, is that not 100% of waterfowlers want to shoot a swan or a swan season......despite what the 2 people at this meeting say.

And then you have to pay nonresident fees, which usually are cost prohibitive. Why any hunter wouldn't want to expand hunting opportunity in their state is beyond me...
