No names mentioned but for those of you who don't take your choke tubes out and clean regularly (even those who do), get yourself a small bottle of this stuff before the season starts and put a LIGHT coat on the choke tube threads.....do it now....... You'll thank me later.

    Its cheap insurance......

auto part stores sell single use packs of the stuff which is nice because you can stock up for seasons to come without worrying about the stuff going bad after opening a larger container. Also, much cheaper too if you are only using it for one gun once a year.

The "I haven't cleaned my gun in 2 seasons" crew will hopefully get some benefit from this. If not, we can point them to this thread and give em the "i told ya so" when we see the first "choke tube is stuck" thread of the year.

Or for $5 you can get a lifetime supply of this at WalMart. Been using it for probably 10 years and never had a problem.

Factory chokes in some guns are made of poor quality steel and the threads gall or they warp and deform. Cleaning doesn't help a bit. More flush mount Remington chokes get stuck than you can count. Plenty of 870 Express kinda hunters out there.

OR.... your threads could rust out of your barrel all together & your choke tube could take off on the first shot of the day.... when you are miles in... on the best day of the season.... and you have the area to yourself while your covered in birds...don't ask me how I know:(:dv:doh

Luckily the nice folks at briley can cut and re thread your barrel for $150:tu
