I put a dab on the threads of my forearm nut as well... hate having to grab the baby channel locks to get that sucker loose!

I wasn't aware that Remington even built a shotgun in the last 40 years that any self respecting person would want to be caught dead with. They make a nice handle for a Jeep jack.

I have no idea what is in that stuff, but it doesn't go bad.

Same here, its ageless.... I've been working on a small bottle for about 7 years. One stir and its ready to go every time I open it.

Sounds like you could always sell the balance as wrinkle cream if you tire of having it around.

I didn't think a jug of anything lasts you more than a few days .!

BUMP . Reminder. Take those tubes out and grease em! Not much rain yet so they probably aren't rusted in there too well yet.

This is one of the first things you should check when putting your gun together out of the box. I've had to polish out the threads and in one case even get a different choke because of this. In any event I've found if you check it first and make sure it screws in and out with minimal effort you don't have issues. You just grease them up good and make sure after every trip you check that they are hand tight. It is just about attention to detail.

I also agree with Kevin 100%. Lots of folks don't clean their guns often enough and eventually those chokes sieze up in there. Regular gun cleaning also includes regular maintenance and the choke tube should be checked every time. I would bet that most folks issues are caused by this.

Failures are most often the product of poor maintenance but we've gone round and round about this before.
