I find silos set right. ( and this is key) also when the geese approach from a flat horizon silos can’t be beat geese fall in with out question when they come in high I have less success. But 90% of the time I am hunting FFD’s. They are another tool in the box.

I use silo on edge of water. They look great and easy to make a big loafing area.

I live in Nevada, not a lot of geese here.Fortunatly I can travel and get a few geese. Here though most guys that kill geese use fullbodies.Later in the season a couple guys dag out the big 747s and do pretty good. We just acquired 3 or 4 private ranches last year and things have picked up.Private spots are very rare here obviously because of limited agriculture and water,Why do you ask.

I ran, and still have Sillosocks black and whites, which are flocked, and you talk about creating a visible black hole, these things are nuts, and they pull birds, and finish birds. I like them in terms of they actually have performed for me, but if something goes wrong, I'm still blaming them because a DSD looks better...

I also didn't run big spreads of them, 2 dozen'ish, I have 3 dozen now but I don't have anywhere to use them at the moment. I still wish I had bought more.

Just curious if it was a state I’d hunted.
