    On geese, what's your recommendation?

#2 or #4? Im thinking #2, but my paradigm way of thinking says i need to shoot t' or f's.

I know heavy shot blows the average way of thinking out of the water.

I shot 4's on them last year and didn't have any problems.

Last year I shot some Greater Canada Geese -- huge birds in TN (about 15 lbs.) with #2 and #4 Hevishot and couldn't tell the difference. It was massive bleeding with both and instant kills, no finisher shots required with either load.

I think #4's will do fine and am not sure that 6's wouldn't work, but I'll stick with 4's.

#2 Hevi Shot should be awesome on Canadas.

Back when Lead was legal all I ever used on Geese was #2's. (out of a fixed modified choke 1100)....

FWIW, I killed most of my Geese last year with Kent TM #3's and Hevi Shot #6's ( in the chamber when the Geese flew in) . Worked great- much better than any BBB,T, or F shot .

I think 3" #4 Hevi will be my go to load this season.

    I have some 80 shells in 2.75" #6 Hevi for Teal, Woodies,etc.

This shot material is just excellent.

    Good Luck,

    AG

I shot Canada Geese in MD last year over water and fields with 2 3/4" 1 1/4oz7.5 HS. Killed them stone cold dead. One shot one kills. Duckshot69 was my witness.

Thats what I had loaded in my gun. If I was going to just shoot geese I would use #4 HS in the same load. I loaded some last year for early goose season and they worked fine.

I used 4`s and worked great but would like to have had 6`s.Easrier to kill em with a pattern instead 1 or 2 pellets.

Can`t kill em on the couch.

The only geese you hunt is pen raised birds and the only way you can call them is with a bucket of feed.:nutz :l :nutz
