I have tried for over 40 yrs to save the tundra
I have a few of those Mike Weller flutes. Nice collection.
That Weller flute was a prototype for a lohman model 5000 flute in the last 80's my buddys brother was vp in charge of development on that call they are great calls still use them at times that one is cocabolo sounds incredible
Back in the mid 80's me and a buddy a wildlife biologist saw a snow goose that was dyed pink it was in a bunch of other birds need got a chance to kill him really would have been a trophy only 1 i ever saw that was marked like that. Color indicated where it was from what he told me. Near churchill manitoba lapourouse bay what we were told
Here is a picture of a dyed bird found on internet so they still must do this
Ringed bill gull dyed flourescent pink
A little off topic, but i learned to call on a lohman 5000 flute. Since ED brought it up. Still have it. Dont use it.
I wish i could help save the tundra. Dont get to shoot them in my area.
Yes we shot one with a plastic leg band last year, it was a juvie. We typically get a band per every 75 snows we shoot. We haven' gotten a band in the last 600
