I'm planning a Florida waterfowl hunt for January 2014. We want to target fulvous, black bellies, mottled ducks and hopefully some BWT. Can any of you recommend a good outfitter?

    Thanks for the help.

Send a PM to Capt Jeff Kraynik. I'm sure he can put you on all of those species in central Florida and he is a great guy.

Derreck Bendel - "Bender" here on the fuge, go over to the United Waterfowelrs of Florida site, that is the place to find the guides for Florida.

He hunts teh STA's but almost always destroys the ducks... Here a link to some of his hunts this year with clients.

    Froglips,

There are many "outlaw" guides here in Florida that do not have the required licenses & guide "Illegally!!!"

No matter who you choose, please make sure the guide/outfitter has the following as required by law.

    1) U.S. Coast Guard Capt's/Guide License (current)

    2) Business Liability Insurance (current)

    3) Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)

    4) County Business Permit (some require)

If they don't have any of the following, move on to someone that does!!!

LOL, he isn't an outlaw, He hunts public impounds where motors are not required nor legal. You hunt public impounds where boats are required and needed.

Florida law only dictates you need a guide license if you use a motorized vessel either transport your "clients" either to or from a hunting location. No engine, no need for a guide license / Capt. permit.

And I do agree with you, in that case forthe areas you hunt you need a trusted guide like yourself Jeff so undo the panty wad.

However there ARE other viable options.

Just becuase you utilize this particular Florida Forum for your personal white pages doesn't mean you should take offense and misrepresent the "guide" laws here in Fla., don't forget your not the only "law dawg" around. ;) and he is a sponsor on this site as well so ??????

Frog, ask around and do yourself a better favor, go to the united waterfowlers of florida site. There is a reason most people go there opposed to the florida forum here.

As you can see a lot of bias shown here and ask the masses what they think...you will get a better clearity.

Good luck regardless what you choose have fun be safe and I hope you get your birds!
