I believe Chris Akin's Slick dog throws some red pups from time to time. Its an impressive animal and Doc E might approve the purchase for you.

Certainly not the experience I've had nor with other owners of Fox Red Yella dogs that I know.

The proof is in (or not in) the white list and OFA lists. No need to ask anyone, and we already know the answers.

If you are looking for a UK line dog, I cannot more strongly suggest you look at dogs from Haynes Floyd (Double T) or Tom Hamilton (Bracken Fen). Neither breeds for color per se, but might incidently have a dark yellow dog in a litter.

I spoke to both of these guys before I got my pup and they are top notch. Very knowledgable and helpful.

I don't post here often, as I don't do trials of any type. I do, however, shoot birds for the sometimes. :l:l

Just wanted to echo the above comments from Kwick. I lucked into my Tarna, who is a light fox red. I don't even notice it, but others do. It was a local breeder, who's mother was know locally as an excellent bird dog, even if she looks like an overweight long legged weiner dog. I had actually forgotten what she looked like when I was offered the pup. I almost gagged. Then Tarna came out of the car, and I fell in love.

It isn't the color that makes the dog, it is the heart under that pretty fur. Not to mention, a lot of work getting the training right.

However, The great thing about labs is that you can find exactly what you want in any color. You can choose size, color, temperament, etc... without giving up performance or stellar genes.
