Refuge hunting 4x4 Van anyone?

    I am thinking of getting a 4x4 passenger van. I wonder if any others are using, or have used a van for hunting and fishing "the refuge".

    I have a crew cab Ram 1500 now and it's fine. My wife has the minivan that's used for moving the family. I'm thinking about a Man Van to haul the fam, and hunting camping and fun when needed.

    Guy here in town has a 3/4 ton GMC 4x4 conversion. Used the heck out of it during the ducks season. For 15 years I used a 3/4T Chevy van as my hunting vehicle. I camped in it while hunting, for up to 5 days at a time. VERY handy.
    The 4x4 conversions ain't cheap.

    i believe I know the guy Tuleman speaks of. I have been hunting with him. The Van is handy. He had his 4 Wheeler and decoys all in it. It's a panel van, with only front seats.

    I like my excursion. Keep 3rd seat out and can cold down bench seat when I need more room.

    Not many newer, cheap options on 4x4 vans. Wish there were... I was looking into them a few years ago. Word of warning on the 7.3L Ford 4x4 vans, from a guy who operates them routinely in El Paso; Find one with a turbo. He said the stock setup was just enough to get you killed, power-wise, in traffic, and couldn't pull much weight. His vans are a little on the heavy side though. Probably a ton or so of electronics in the back.

    @tcc; does that use old the pickup frame? I'd drive that!
