If any owner of a Rem V3 is or was an owner of the REM 1100 how would you compare the recoil firing similar waterfowl loads? Whcich shotgun is a "softer " shooter?
    Thanks

I have both, but haven't shot them side by side to make an accurate comparison. That being said, I haven't noticed the recoil at all this season with my V3, so I suspect it's at least on par with my 1100's.

Me personally I think Remington is finally starting to wise up with the amount of new 1100 models being offered, they make the most popular autoloader ever produced with over 4 million sold and yet they have had flop after flop with new autoloaders released. Looking for them to make some 1100 magnums in the not to near future.

The versamax and v3 are both flops? Funny, because I have never needed to carry spare parts for either one of them.....

Time will tell on those, they might have gotten it right with them. If you remember they said how great the 11-87 was when it first came out.

We're getting slightly off topic here, but I wanted to chime in. The 11-87 is just a very slightly modified 1100, and works just the same. Rem's next offering was the 105CTi, which definitely was a failure. They followed that up with the Versamax and now the V3. It's my understanding that both the Versamax and V3 have been fairly successful in the market. I have both and they are a joy to shoot. The V3 quickly became my favorite gun due to it's handling and ease of maintenance. Hopefully the issue I experienced will be a one-time affair.
