Many years ago I heard a story about taking a train that stops in a very remote location, the traveller is met by an outfitter and taken either by horseback or dog sled, to a location where individual cabins await.
When the time comes, he is taken back to the railway in time to meet the train to return.

Does any of this ring any bells?

    Thanks,
