With the unimpressive early line up with the Republican presidential slate, I keep thinking that they are holding back their best horse - I certainly hope so. I know Cheney has said he is not interested, but there has to be someone that will rally the troops. Who do you think may be the dark horse that they will put in after everyone is tired of hearing from the current tribe?

With as much money and organization as is required to run for president nowadays I don't think you'll ever see a last minute "dark horse" ride to the rescue.

My wish list, though, would be Condi Rice, Jeb Bush or perhaps JC Watts.

Hate to tell ya Sea, but you're looking at your choices. I sincerely hope I'm proven wrong.

I would love to see Thompson throw his hat in. From a Conservative standpoint, I think he would be good; from the RNC's viewpoint, they would have a challenge.

I think Condoleeza Rice is too marginalized by being associated with the current administration thus, unelectable. I don't know anything about Jeb Bush but, if he's at all like his father or brother, no thanks.

I think Condoleeza Rice would be an excellent choice, but she may have to wait until the following elections. How about Newt? He is along the lines of a true conservative, has a lot of experience, and is a very good speaker (articulate:dv ).

Fred Thompson would win the Republican nomination in a cakewalk.
