I'm in the market for a duck boat with a mud motor, i have a line on a nearly new one and I'm looking for some feedback. Mud buddy v 5000. I know they have had some issues but cant find anything specific to this motor. I've had a mud buddy 35 sport for 12 years and no problems but looking at spending a lot of money so worth some research.

You might also post the question on the Boats, Blinds and Gadgets Forum. There is a sub-forum for mud motors there and it is pretty active.

I have owned Mudbuddy Sports and currently have a Prodrive. My buddy had a V Mudbuddy and it was a smooth motor with very convenient outboard-like shifting between forward and reverse. But for some reason it did not seem to run as fast on his boat as the Sport MBs, so he went back to a Sport. Your experience may vary.
