Well I would say duck hunting in my part of the Potomac has hit rock bottom. After seeing very few ducks all season I thought that with everything iced up I would finally see a few. That didn't happen. Heck, I see more ducks in August than I saw today and once again I didn't fire the gun. Every year the grasses diminish and so do the ducks numbers. Until the food (eel grass and other SAVs) start growing back I think hunting is over with in my stretch of the river. Is it this bad everywhere in the Chesapeake region? Gosh I hope not.

very bad on the upper Pax river. Saw 8 Mallards and about 20 pintails (250 yards high heading south) this morning. Ended up with 1 drake Mallard. I can't remember it ever this bad

Don't feel bad,it's sucks on the Western Shore Lower Bay. Absolutely nothing but hairy heads and skunkheads. Typical December, things will pick back up in January. Hope it warms up...cause the cold and ice doesn't work anymore!
