IMG_0360.JPG IMG_0348.JPG IMG_0345.JPG not many folks realize we have 3 species of elk in the US.
    Rosie's, rocky mtn and tules.

Rosie's don't have the giant antlers but normally bigger bodied than a Rocky.

Here is this years Rosy. My largest and the only mature(non raghorn) I've taken. Old bull, we estimated close to 800# on the hoof. Just hindquarters weighed 191#s.
Shot about 20 miles from my house.

Very foggy. Shot, he dropped. Fog rolled back in. Spent 20 minutes turning circles in clearcut trying to find it. See his antler poking above brush. Walk over, and find that shed I'm holding. 10' away was the bull

Man! Way to go. 800#! Almost like shooting a steer... His antlers don't look symmetrical; do I see that right? How old you figure he is? That's a nice looking rifle. What are the particulars of that?

He wasn't symmetrical. Palmated and had a few kickers. Almost like he was a main frame 4pt. 6 pts per side.
The rifle is .358 Shooting Times Alaskan 700 Rem. brother built it. 250gr noslers pack a heck of a wallop

Thank you. Very very unique bull. Antler color is what people in the PacNw really seem to go crazy over.
    He don't get much better.

He looks like he rubbed on a lot of burnt timber. We get a pretty dark color on our bulls from pine pitch, but nothing that dark.
