Well after a great run with my German Shorthair Dakota for 15.5 yrs, today, I had to put my ole boy down. Health was failing and just couldn't watch him suffer. He deserved the best! My boy I'll remember you for your amazing personality and the countless points you produced! I always knew your points were honest and would produce. I'll always have those memories. With his head on my lap and in my hands, we let him go to the other side. Godspeed my boy I miss you already.

So sorry to hear the sad news, Doug, but glad that Dakota got to spend those 15 1/2 years with you, of all people.

Godspeed on your journey to 'The Bridge', Dakota...

......that and my own age is exactly why I haven't had a Bird dog for the last 20 years. Guess I just became too feeble and heartsick with the last one I had.
Wishing you the best....it's never easy.

Great looking fella and he just looks like he has a lot of integrity and drive in him. Godspeed to you Dakota - may the scenting be good, the wind in your face, the birds hold tight and the shot be true until you can meet up with Doug again.

    Doug,

Sorry for your loss. It's tough when you have to make that decision... worst decision of my wife's and my adult lives.

It probably took two years for me to begin to get over losing our male, and even with our new pup, we still miss him.

    Best regards,

    3ds
