Flying north at noon over Calumet City today.
They are neat to see and listen to.
There has been a ton of snows and canadas going over the house the last 4 days.
A guy told me one of the duck clubs here on the river is roasting a bunch of snows.
They are over Schererville, IN. today and they are loud, I can hear them in my office with the radio on.
I seen one in South Central zone in late January. Very cool to see. Have not seen one since I went to Canada a few years ago.
I saw some over my Snow goose spread last Friday I believe. Thats in central-west Illinois
Saw one at that same hot tub about a week ago. Wonder if its the same one only seen them here a handful of times.
Wow had no idea it was still around. Never seen one there. I'd put money on it that it's the same one. Wonder if some lucky hunter thought it's a goose and now the lake is his permanent home lol
The Sandhills are all over in Northeast IL, we have 4 that live in the Forest Preserve across the lake all year, and will fly over at roof top height pretty much all summer. Went out to shot some ducks yesterday (camera) and work got in the way. I couldn't get out til about 11, jumped a couple hundred ducks, 50 Cranes, and some geese off a pond, the only things to return were the sandhills. Pictures lose some clarity when uploaded, oh well.
