Canada has democratic tendencies, but not necessarily a Democracy. Our Constitutional Monarchy (controlled by the Queen via the GG, to the extent allowed in our constitution) gives the Queen's rep, Ms. Jean, ultimate power, rather than ultimate power to the governing party chosen by the electorate. A political party or coalition can't "seize" power but they can convince the GG to give it to them. Either way it sucks. No matter what happens, other countries seem to either be ignoring the situation because the don't care, or are laughing at our instability.

About 3000 people all in pretty good humor if loud and VERY anti-Dion/Layton/Duceppe. Speeches by Jason Kenney and Monte Solberg, a moment of silence for both the soldiers and the montreal massacre. Sang O Canada a couple of times.

Very PRO Canada. No Kick Quebec Out or Western Separation sentiment visible.

I think it would have been even larger and perhaps more angry if Parliament hadn't been prorogued.

Watch it or we'll have to buy your home province of Dogpatch off of the Irvings and use it as a big tailings pond.;)

Well, I haven't read the whole thread, and it's kind of off topic, but...

    1. If you get rid of your PM, can we have him?

    2. Hats off to your boys in Afghanistan.

The Irving have thier own tailings pond called the Atlantic Ocean. As long as you call it the Eider Rock Project the NGOs are happy......kick em a little money......nice green sounding name. Mean while not an Eider to be found within 30 miles of that place (apearently they don't like petroleum on thier feathers)

I was raised in northern New Brunswick, work around the area was never to plentyfull but if a Quebecker wanted to work in NB its was ok but New Brunswickers are not alowed to work in Quebec. Now thats makes sence !!! Here is what us Acadiens say here about Quebec, Vive L'acadie pis le Quebec. HAHA!!!
