Like Scout, I love the 2x6's, also , like Scout, they are illeagel in my state. so I go with 4's.
#6's for me. They seem to put 'em down and hold 'em there in the 3 1/2's. Has worked on shots of 10ft. to 60 yrds.
Finding the birds is important then looking into their patterns (roost, feed, paths to-and-from) will give you an idea of where to be and when to be there.
#4 shot works the best out of my sp-10.Handloaded with 2 1/2oz.It has dropped a tom clean at 60 yards(paced off).
I shoot a over and under so I shoot 5 or 6 shot in the bottom barrel with a full choke so if they sneak in close, I got that covered . And I shoot 4's in my top barrel with a extra full turkey choke for those shots longer then 30 yrds . Has worked out fairly good .
Good safe hunting ,
