There is not many 600mm teles you can Clayton.. even the Tamron can be a little cumbersome!!!
It appears you have answered the BIF question. Excellent captures. Love those Siberian snow geese.
Great shots Diz.....That lens certainly has my attention.
Thanks a lot for your review and photos. Looks like you really like it. I have been giving this lens some serious thought. I wonder how it will preform on my old 7D?
Looks good but I'm skeptical on this thing performing on par with the 400mm f/5.6 or 300mm f/4 plus 1.4 TC.
No David, I don't see it out performing a prime on Bif..We will just have to wait and see. And then you can't rate it with my Bif skills which are next to none.
What amazes me is just how tame your waterfowl can be on the east coast Great looking setup. I think your BIF skill set is just fine Dizzy. You need to give yourself more credit.
These are Lesser Snow Geese and shot in Texas and no I will never be a Moody when it comes to BIF work. That youngster is miles ahead of this old man!! But I plan to try and shoot more of just for the fun of it! That's all I do anymore anyway!! I can now just sit back and enjoy my love of this craft now and forget about the pressures of commercial work and those damn deadlines.
PS,, Thank you so much for the compliments and encouragement!!
Wow, you are pretty close to those birds for them to let you take pics of your set-up with them in the background.
These guys were right along the Shovelers Pond loop at the Anahuac Refuge in the marsh on the right side near the fence. They have been roosting there all winter as far as I have heard.
