This is old school American Literature, so I'm sure many of you have read his works. . .but for the younger crowd. . .please do. Sometimes his dialogue is dated (30's-40's jargon), but his concerns are not. My favorites include: Arrowsmith (my favorite, but slow for some. . . okie would like it given his profession. . .) Elmer Gantry It Can't Happen Here Surprising how many societal issues continue to crop up. . . and become relevant again. . . Red baiters will blast him (rightfully so in some respects), but he is a most candid and thought provoking author. I'm really interested in any younger folks comments on his novels.
