    Lots of single and pair honkers because the hatch was terrible this spring an many breeding pairs lost entire broods in the dakotas due to heavy wet spring snow, so they took off with the molts.

    Yeah it got a bit dry this year but is was not even in the same conversation as the drought that broke in 93. That drought took out 100% of the potholes and about 50% of the lakes. We would need the better part of three years of absolutely zero rain to get back to what it was then.

    I was not here 25 years ago so I can't say. I would say the locals have not been hammering them. Birds were typically more scattered than in big feeds.

    You seeing many specks? Starting to build in numbers down here to the point that they are by far the most common goose I've seen the past few days. This mornings hunt with the full spread. There had been a good number of ducks with them the day before but none returned today.
