Just got off the phone with Zone 4 WDFW, and they still don't have the final counts sorted out from the mid winter survey that determines the Brant season, if any, in Skagit County. They said they know they're behind, but will inform the public prior to the scheduled 1/6/18 start date.

Nothing like the last minute to decide! That sort of hurts the people that need to plan ahead for the season.

Awesome, boys are getting big. Have any pics of your decs? Yours will make mine look like a first grade art project, but I would like to see what they are really supposed to look like :)

Ya one of my crew left me and went to college... how dare he ! My middle son Elliott is invaluable as crew out there and John's boy Jack is coming up the ranks quickly.

My personal Brant rig is nearing 60 + blocks strong and an assortment of Y-Boards and sleds-- mostly a mix of old Restle dekes from 20 + years back, a few classic Herters 81's from my late Grandpa's rig at his hunt club in Baja Mexico, carved dekes from Brant Foundation donations and my own, plus some new ones I put together and painted for this "historic" Dungeness season from Herters 81's and 92's and some of the new Homer deke head positions.

Takes some time to set the rig ( Mr. Otto will vouch for that :z ) ...but sure is nice to float them in my backyard this season ! :yes
