with the conservation order to bring the population in check to a sustainable level for greater snow geese than a serious question? Why not Sunday's?we do have a bunch of deer hunting Sunday's so why not Sunday's for snows?

Wish I could find out. It doesn't inerfere with any federal framework for seasons. It's done out west and its another foot in the door for us.plus with snows being open on Sunday's n not other ducks n geese it would leave open opportunity for conservation order rules, no plugs e callers etc and would make Canada season running into early February and youth day not be that big a deal

Your idea has surfaced before so just to clarify, Maryland like the other few States that don't have Sunday waterfowl hunting do receive "compensatory" days approved by the Service a number of years ago. So those State's do receive the full allotment of hunting days within each framework. The USFWS will not allow piece meal of separating compensatory days/Sunday hunting with other or special seasons like the Snow Goose Conservation order.

Why not? If the snow goose conservation order does not count towards the regular season?
Or, why not run it 7 days a week when it's conservation order only.

Mayor- Does the conservation order fall under the guidelines of the federal framework since its a stand along season outside the framework? I understand not allowing the piecemeal method during the allotted days but outside that I'm not sure.

For sunday hunting for the snow goose conservation season to happen
    1. it would not have to count against the federal framework
    2. it would involve the respective counties (home rule) passing legislation in the general assembly allowing it to happen.
    3. It would operate in the same manner as sunday hunting for deer and turkey. If caroline county wanted hunting for snow geese on sunday during the conservation season they could put in a bill.

I may be wrong but the federal frameworks for waterfowl seasons are a completely different entity from the conservation order.the conservation order is not a season set under parameters that pertain to limits of birds depending upon breeding success and mid winter counts. It exists to dramatically reduce the overburdened snow goose population via no limits, plugs, e callers shooting times etc. if the goal of the order is to drastically reduce the average population of the snow geese than why wouldn't they give us Sunday's other than marylands antiquated system alleviating Sunday waterfowl hunting?
