Last year I purchased a few Replicas and the super mag shells by Bigfoot. This summer we bought some of the new DSD Canada goose decoys. I slipped into a spread that had Tanglefrees, Dakotas and Avian X and was impressed .
The decoy market has made big changes from my earlier times of Outlaw silhouettes Bigfoots Higdon 5/8 shells, an Flambou floaters.
From what Ive seen goose decoys are the best value for the quality ever!

What are the pros and cons of the "newer" decoys !!

I know there are many GHG haters but I think they did a lot for decoy realism.I have owned a ton of different brands from flambeau to DSD,and when it all comes down to it I landed geese in all of them as long as my hide was good.
I like realistic decoys that are us3r friendly.I pack in and so Avianx leaders work real well for that.I do mix in Avianx honkers with them, and when its cold enough i thtow out some GHG sleeper shells.
The only negative for me is the price, mainly because I am a decoy who're and never seem to have enough.
I think its great companies are constantly improving decoys.

While that may be true,... At one time i was looking at making stuffers,..and a buddy use to make foam decoys( Herters molds) .
I was given 6 of the new DSD , I like the size and eventually used the motion system , simple enough!

I wish I could get away with using 6 decoys. We hunt almost all traffic and bigger spreads generally pull better.

If you know how to do the taxidermy part, stuffers are by far the cheapest decoy.
