The guys in NE are bitchin too.
There are plenty of ducks..... in the refuges..... south of us..... Pea Island is loaded, Mattamuskeet is loaded
They don't count unless you can get in there and blow there little heads off! Fake News!!
I agree. Went to Pea Island for the first time couple weeks ago. Was both equally amazed and greatly discouraged at the same time. Unreal amount of ducks but sucked to know they were already past us. Maybe they will start back north before the season goes out.
Took off all last week. Plenty of birds in Va. Awful hard to get at them now and things locking up worse everyday
Wait until Thurs/Fri, low single digits and blustery..... The Potomac may be solid ice shore to shore by Saturday morning.
Once durr season is over it's a perfect time to try and kill a coyote or two. They should work to callers pretty well this time of year in this weather.
Buddy in Indiana beat them up for 2 straight weeks. Mallards, pintails, divers. Lakes, mid-sized rivers. Over 250 ducks in the boat. They are now frozen up and birds are gone.
If We get the snow like they are calling for..the water temp will drop rapidly and you'll have ice in places you've never seen it before. Best thing to turn this around would be a warm rain.
Looks like warmer weather and rain late next week
Looking at the weather I noticed rain and 42 and then 46 in Spotsylvania Mon and Tue. What the heck????
