Now that 80 or years have passed, someone's bound to conjure up a worthless scandal about this.

Neighbor of ours back home is a Vietnam vet who went in 1966. His squad had mainly 30 cal weapons issued to them. Said they seldom hit a target that got up and ran off or continued to fire upon them. By the time he was mustered out, the squad arms had been changed to the 556. He always said that unless it was a head shot or center mass they just flopped down and continued to fire. He talked very little about what he did or saw, but this was a constant theme from him. He liked the M14 way better, but did say it was a bit clumsy in thick brush.

Former CIA Director John Brennan is set to testify publicly about the intelligence underpinning the Obama administration's conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election and could shed light on concerns about the security risk posed by President Donald Trump's first national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Former CIA Director is testifying in now.

Multiple Federal agencies are looking into this.

Comey, former FBI Director, wants to meet privately with the special counselor before testifying in public.

Former CIA Director John Brennan is set to testify publicly about the intelligence underpinning the Obama administration's conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election and could shed light on concerns about the security risk posed by President Donald Trump's first national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Brennan's testimony before the House intelligence committee on Tuesday comes one day after Flynn invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination in response to a subpoena from the Senate intelligence committee. The panel had sought a wide range of information and documents about his and the Trump campaign's contacts with Russians dating back to June 2015.

Both the Senate and the House intelligence committees are investigating Flynn and other Trump campaign associates as part of probes into Russia's election meddling. The FBI is also conducting a counterintelligence investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign.

Perhaps several of our noble Vietnam and other combat veterans may share with us their "feelings" of the M-14 and or M-16 platform.

An interesting footnote to this and Ron's comment is my Daughter and several of her cousins hunt with sportarized milsurp rifles, (inherited from fathers or uncles), that are either over a hundred years old or approaching that anniversary.

Brennan just said he himself has legally shared classified information with the Russians through proper and authorized channels.

    He's speaking now.

Brennan says he believes the Russians are currently trying to interfere with our political process.

"Currently"? Gee, is Brennan saying the Russians are just now breaking new ground doing stuff they've never done before? :scratch

More political grandstanding, the DEMS have pinned the election in 18 on this and only this, have not created a message that anyone will listen to, and we have enough history of them being in charge!

No way Ron. The dems have plenty to use in the 18 elections and the republicans are angst over it. The healthcare issue is a good tool for the dems and the tax reform. The proposed budget, even though is won't get passed as is, is another issue the dems can use effectively. Why do you think congress is having such a tough time passing anything meaningful.

They've had eight years to practice the style. Should be good for at least another 20 years.
