    Teal and Spoonies are the most numerous duck where I hunt, yet I don't shoot all that many of them. It takes restraint to hunt a certain species, but you are right they have to be there in the first place. Restraint takes patience and confidence that they will come. Confidence comes from scouting and having enough skill to kill them. Nothing magical just a little hard work and for some luck.

    Mallards aren't controversial, it is just the people who pursue them that are or those who love to hate those who pursue them. Specks bring out the same emotions. Kind of like bass fisherman vs trout fisherman.

    Hope to get first hand experience skulling mallards and other ducks....
