Surprised to see another book on the battle of Little Big Horn...I thought I had read them all. I visited the battlefield on my trip home after spending a month doing a clerkship on a reservation N of Missoula years ago when I was in school, and had to know everything about it after spending time there. Like a lot of things in life, it is only real and interesting after it becomes tangibile...I'll check this book out.

If the theme here is US History, I'll throw out a couple more I'm surprised not to see on your list:

    Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose

    Wilderness Warrior by Douglas Brinkley

Both are big reads, especially the TR book, but all good stuff.

That just tends to be my theme, feel free to offer selections on various topics.

You may find of interest, though you've probably already read it given your commentary:

I found Last Stand by Philbrick to be really good.:tu

Yes, I've read that one...I went through an Ambrose stage several years ago. I couldn't get enough of the history of the west and Ambrose's stuff was right in the wheel house.
