Looking to make a very rustic/ simple swan carving for a mantle display in my new house. Looking for a fairly simple gunner pattern. I'm no expert but I can hack my way through it.

    thanks in advance

Pretty easy and historic to the East coast anyway

I agree with the history. I love canvas decoys, even got a couple of old ones. Easy.... I dont know about that they fight me like the devil!

That’s a really nice looking swan. What kind of wood do you use for the neck and head.

Not wanting to steal the thread. BB and center board are Western Red Cedar and the head/neck is Idaho White Pine.

Nice swan. I didn't think anybody from WA knew what a canvas decoy was! You're not originally from Currituck are you? :scratch:nutz

Born and raised in Eastern WA. Traveled to a swan hunting state and like note above wood swan decoys would seem rather a burden in a hunting situation.
