I will duck hunt one more time this coming weekend, even though the ducks have mostly left...after that, the focus will be totally on the spring turkey season. My goal is to scout plenty just before the opener and have several places to hunt just in case I get busted.

Years ago when I messed with a decoy, I was playing around with a motion decoy that was suspended on a line from a stake like a modified shepherd's hook. The decoy could spin and move very easily. I found that I do not need decoys for the easterns I hunt. In fact my shooting is a lot more up close and personal without a decoy. I like those birds looking for a hen they can't see. When you get turkeys walking around you at under ten yards that is a rush.

I hear you, but one hen decoy sometimes is the ticket to give myopia to a tom!
