No, the "long bed" is a little over 6', the short bed (like the black truck pictured above) is 4.5-5, I don't know the exact depth but it's somewhere in that range.

Long bed is 6ft just like the access cab and regular cab. Short bed is 5 ft.

    2006, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 235,000...:l and going strong.:tu

    Oil changes every 3000 +/-
    tranny fluid changed every 75,000
have had three broken leaf springs, 2 center passenger side and one center driver side.
did have the brakes done at about 180,000

and that's about it, minus windshield, hood and fenders after a tree fell on it:flame

Drove Dodge for years but this little truck has taken such a pounding and still keeps going that I will buy another when the time comes.

Do you guys get bounced all over the road in the 4 doors? That and gas mileage is probably my only complaints about mine. I'm considering the Tundra next to get the better ride of a heavier truck.

I don't notice it bouncing all over the road. It's not as smooth as my dad's 2000 Tundra, but I wasn't expecting it to be. My next truck will probably be a Tundra as well, but I don't have many complaints about my Tacoma. What kind of gas mileage are you getting? I was getting about 18 on average and 20 per highway. When I put my BFG All Terrains on, it dropped to about 17 Average and 18.5 on the highway. Best I ever got was up in the mountains on that Colorado trip in the pictures above where I got about 23.

Count your leaf springs. If you only have three, Toyota issued a service bullitine to add an extra spring to help with the ride.

tacomaworld.com - I've gotten lots of info from this site, including the rear leaf TSB Trip mentioned, and info on the 6-speed throwout bearing issue on the 6-speed manual transmissions. Good site.

I bought a 2008 Tundra this fall and I thought my hubby would make me get rid of my Tacoma but he said we could keep it as our "beater" truck
