WOW I can't believe I missed this thread all this time :scratch :doh I have extended offers to individual vets before as I am a disabled Viet Nam vet. With my generations experience of coming home I vowed I would do anything I could to make sure it didn't happen to the next generation of warriors.

I hunt in the northern Sacramento valley in CA. We have a 4 man rice blind in a very productive area. I would love to take a service member and one of their children or spouse waterfowl hunting. All the hunters need is a hunting license and stamps. If you are 70% disabled CA offers a DAV hunting license for less than $10, plus stamps of course. I can provide guns, ammo, most likely adult water proof clothing and transportation directly to the blind (no waders needed). I could even provide transportation from the Sacramento International Airport. If housing is needed I can offer a discount on a room in the local casino. I also suggest the hunters bring a camera too. Please allow me a couple weeks notice, during the season to schedule with my blind partners.

If interested either PM me or Email at ckingman77@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you soon.

Putting out the call to all Global War on Terror vets. June 4th and 5th 2011, the country's Heartland wants to show it's appreciation. Come fish the Mississippi River at Quincy, IL. with the weekend on our dime. The hotel, the meals, entertainment, the bar tab, licenses, tackle, the boat and partner, everything is being provided. We have some pretty awesome prizes up for the vets includeing a laser engraved black rifle and a week-long outfitted Pike County, IL. Whitetail hunt. If you are currently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth or Scott AFB. your CO has already blessed the event and transport from those locations has already been arranged. We already have warriors coming from North Carolina to California, and fishermen coming from as far away as the Dakotas to be your boat operator for the day. If you are not a GWOT vet and want to get involved to show your thanks there are ways to do that also. Vets and non-vets both can call the Quincy Convention and Civic Center at 1-800.978.4748 or visit the website at http://www.fishingforfreedomquincy.org/ Come join us as Quincy creates a whole new litter of River Rats!

I hunt the Yellowstone, Big Horn, and Tongue Rivers in Montana. Get in touch if you know of any of my fellow veterans in MT or surrounding areas that want to get out and chase some ducks. I have everything they just need waders, camo, and gun. PM me if anyone is interested.

I was involved in this thread during my 2nd tour to Iraq back in 2004/2005. I am now on the backside of tour number four to Iraq. It is great to see so many folks stepping up to help our warriors. This war has taken a toll on an entire generation but these guys continue to step up and volunteer to go back. It means a lot to me as a leader that you all continue to help our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast guard personnel.
Thanks for what you all are doing and keep this thread going.

    Thank you
    Tom

as i have said earlier in this thread this is just awesome....i am still more than willing to take a vet hunting, i would do it in a minute. We are able to drive to the blinds so children esp lil ones that have not shot a goose before, if you have never seen the reaction in person i would encourage my fellow fugers to take a father/son/daughter hunting its just an incredible day. anyway back to the point all you vets, current and past are welcome to hunt with me, i have the most of the things you need, except guns and ammo. I will be here, all you have to do is ask.

Fishing for Freedom II will be held June 2nd and 3rd this year. Signup is open now. We have added a catfish division to the weekend this year since some of last years fishermen had to show off and try to weigh in 50 pound caddies :l We are expecting 150 WW's and GWOT vets this year!

The Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fishermen's Association out of Quincy, IL. has a program to pair up the wounded warrior vets/GWOT vets with hunts/fishing trips. They try to tailor the trip to the vets own wish list. This can range from whitetail deer hunting in the famous IL. "Golden Triangle" to MO. turkey hunts, MO. Snow goose hunts, duck hunts, Canada Goose hunts, trophy catfish (50 pounds+) etc.
