Could it be an eclipse plumage cinnamon???
Cinnamon vs. Blue-winged Teal
This time of year, it can be very difficult to tell the difference. Wing patches are slightly different but still hard to identify. The best way to to identify is the bill size. Cinnamon have a larger bill than blue-winged. Even with that, it still can be a guessing game????????
Either way, cool looking bird.
Here is a "guide" I typed up years ago when we shot a cinnamon during early teal.
After looking at that and comparing it to the blue wingers we shot that day. I'm guessing that it probably was a cinnamon but at any rate it's nice to shoot something a little different
