    2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

I've been thinking about this verse for a while. Jesus was tempted. He was without sin. The Devil has been trying to decieve the world about the humanity of Jesus for a long time. John says anyone who says otherwise is the spirit of the antichrist.
So what is it about human flesh that is so attracted to sin? We all have it. Jesus did too or temptation wouldn't have happened. It came from Adam. Jesus took on our humanity. This came from Mary. We know the Holy Spirit could not have been tempted so the temptation to sin was inherited from Mary. Hebrews 4:15
Johns concerns about de-humanizing Jesus is of utmost importance in understanding the gospel. If Jesus was not fully God and fully man attonment would not have been sufficient. God poured out all his wrath on his son. Jesus perfect human blood was shed once for humanity. It can not be recreated. To do so would be to re-crucify the Lord. Think about it.
