How many people would be interested in having a bird mounting day? I would host it and we could spend the day mounting a bird, and then have a bar-b-que afterwards?

Everyone brings a bird, and we all swap secrets and techs and everyone goes home with a bird. I know harliduck did something similar a few months back with great results.

It's summertime, and would be a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.

I'm almost centrally located in the state, a little over an hour south of Dallas.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone wants to give it a go.

I'm all for it and think it's a great idea. Just depends when it will be done. I work shift work at my regular job and will have to see how it will coincides with my schedule.
Anybody that's up for it but do not have any birds to mount, I do have extra birds in the freezer that I would be willing to "gift" to them.
At Harli's seminar it was alot of newbies learning how for the first time and they had a great time.

How about it folks ?? :tu :tu

Set a weekend date for this month sometime. I'm free every one of them right now.

oh and BTW. everyone is welcome.. it's not just a texas thing. I was just thinking it's not like Texas is the size of Rhode Island where you can theorectically drive across it in a couple hours. But anyone is welcome.

Yeah... and I have a canvasback in the freezer that I'd be willing to "gift" to somebody too... as long as they give it back when they're done! ;)

I do have a nice redhead that I'm not gonna use.

Barry, did you ever mount Jared's redfish? I keep forgetting to ask him about it.

if enough people are interested and willing to chip in maybe $20 tops, i will reserve the galley/meeting hall at the local state park. it has electicity, a/c, fans, running water deep sink, restrooms and plenty of space and light, so we wouldnt be under each others feet so bad. plus it has brbque facilities and lots of shade trees. the cost is only $100 for the day so that wouldnt be so bad if we had atleast five people.

otherwise, we can just do it here at the shop.
