    Ditto Pintail.

    Footnote:

If you lost power and you didn't remove your perishables from the refrigerator or freezer if you have anyone to remove them do it. Woof!!! That and turn off the main electrical and water feed to the house. Several homes here caught fire when the power was turned back on and the owners hadn't returned yet.

We've got a broken pipe in our feed because the soil underneath shifted from a street flood and the pipe had no support.

Just thoughts, if you haven't done it, from a been there done that with Ike and Harvey.

Left frozen pees in an unplugged freezer during xmas break in college. Almost died when I opened it back up on my return.

Not sure why anyone would put pee in a freezer but... OK?

I bought a 9kw generator from Costco a few years ago that runs on either gasoline or propane. I've accumulated nine 5 gal propane bottles for coping with an emergency. So far I've only had to use the generator when SC Edison had short term issues, and haven't lost any food or had to drink hot beer.

Don't know if you have a gas or electric water heater but the thermostat needs to be turned to off if you turn off the water or a water line down the street has been broken. It will "boil" itself dry.

Have a tech turn the gas off if possible.

Sorry for the paranoia. Just trying to prevent problems instead of fix problems.

    Stay safe
