The most Sought after Duck

Statistically mallard is the most hunted (or harvested I guess).

My fav is mallards in the timber. But I like all different ways of hunting, and hunting different species as well. Teal are fun to shoot.

 

Mallards most hunted. I'm generally not happy till I have a Morning Woodie in hand.

My favorite is either a wood duck or widgeon, In CA its tough to beat a flock of responsive widgeon dipping and diving out of the spread. Wood ducks are the most beautiful duck in my opinion and much more rare, you have to be in a certain habitat to harvest them and I can't say I frequent that habitat all that often. At the end of the day they are all fun.

 

I hunt with an old codger but he ain't THAT old!

 

Wasn't calling you a snob, I just love shooting wigeon, pintails, teal, gadwall..... well just ducks in general!

 

Based on what I see (not hear) from guys claiming they are mallard purists, the most desired waterfowl is the hen shoveler.

Those guys will come out guns blazing for a swing-by of those bologna snatchers.

 

Corn fed, dock bread mallard are the best eatin.

 

Here in my area the mallard would be the most hunted.

I perfer to shoot divers.
I think the drake green wing is the best looking bird.
