Hunting in the grasslands fog for old folks isn't as easy as it used to be. My hunting partner today was Tommy, who I've hunted and fished with for a number of decades. We really realized that the two of us can't see, hear, or move as fast as we did in our younger days. Teal got past us on a regular basis in the early morning fog. Annie too is an old timer at 10 years old. She has the desire, but not the zip that she once did. I think she was happy to get back to the cabin for a little snack and a nice long snooze. The birds were blind shy after the fog thinned out, and we only had one shot at a sprig...no other big ducks came within shooting range. The last two birds of the morning were a couple of snow geese, so overall it was a really nice, enjoyable hunt today. Tommy, Annie and I are always pleased to have a good teal shoot. The last bird of the day. The end of a very enjoyable day in the blind.
