Three weeks to go until archery mule deer opens in NV. We've got three tags and are packing in to the backcountry for a 10 day hunt. We're hunting in a wilderness area that sees very little pressure.

Good luck to all that drew tags this year.

Actually, at 10k feet it's not that bad. Temps run about 70 during the day and mid 40's at night.

We killed three deer this year Nothing big, but the freezers have fresh meat. Two forked horns and a 3X2. All three were killed on the last two days of a 10 day hunt. My younger son and I killed ours 10 minutes apart on the last day with an hour of daylight left.

Last weekend we killed two antelope (rifle). Quick one day hunt.

I leave next Friday for cow elk (muzzleloader). We have three tags to fill. We're going to the same place we hunted the deer. On the deer hunt we saw about 150 elk in three separate herds within two miles of camp. We're hoping they're in the same general area they were in on the deer hunt.

Once I get back from that hunt I'll post pics.
